I don't live in England ,would someone please tell me how the smoking Ban has gone down. Are there less people in the pubs ? Is the Ban being obeyed ?
The BBC promised to keep us informed but I must have missed it. Thank-you in advance.

There seemed to be less people the pub this Thursday than last, but then the weather was bad, so it's difficult to tell.
They have a bar where my bloke works (at a concert hall), and they've been non-smoking there for a year or so now. It doesn't seem to have affected trade - people simply take their drinks outside if they want to smoke.
I think things will level. Those who previously wouldn't have gone to pubs because of the smoke could well replace those smokers who don't go anymore.

You'll hear the same old stories as when Eire introduced their smoking ban... The publicans and brewers saying thousands laid off, 150 pubs forced to close, big drop in sales. Health officials and the anti-smoking lobby will claim sales are up, extra staff being taken on, and the closing pubs have nothing to do with the ban - they would have closed anyway.
In other words, a lot of people will come out with a load of porkies, and we'll never ever find out the truth of the matter.

I live in Wales brionon and being honest I've heard very little complaints from smokers. My hubby's a smoker but he's only ever smoked in what we call "the Den". We went to an evening wedding do last week.lots of smokers there but they just went out on the balcony. Rather them than me as it was raining. Im not aginst the english but I think they're making far too much fuss. Thats my opinion anyway:-)
