I'm not happy because it takes twice as long to get to work.

Also I work in a College and it's been lovely and peaceful these last 6 weeks, now the flipping students are back and it's loud, noisy and I have to fight my way down the corridor!

I'm excited! It's my boyfriends sons first day of school today! Only a half day but I can't wait for him to come and read me his first book or write his first lines, I know he won't be doing these things after one day but it's the beginning of it all!

well I have 1 down 2 to go, I wish my daughter wouldnt act as if she is being put to death on her school day, I have had tears this morning from her, she does it every year, gawd help me next year when she starts secondary school.

My boys go back tomorrow so for now they still have the holiday feeling!

My oldest (6) is fine, went in no problem so I am happy about him but my 3 year old has just gone in to his first day of pre-school and I had to leave him screaming so I feel awful. Just hope they can calm him down : (

kids round here dont go back till tomorrow. My friends little girl showed me her new school shoes yesterday. When I was at school the best shoes you could get were clarks with the key in the bottom, well this little girl had shoes with a little dolly in the bottom that you got a wardrobe and clothes with!! Kids today.....

Young Master Hellion (9) went back yesterday - I hate it because I love his company and we always have such a good time together during the summer. But he was pleased to be seeing his mates and when I asked him what his new teacher was like he said 'She rocks!' so I guess he liked her.

gleaveyweave, had the same last year with my boyfriends son in nursery, tears and tantrums at dawn, now one year down the line he's absolutely delighted by the prospect of his first day in reception. Don't worry, I'm sure yours will soon love it as much!

This is what i have to look forward to when the kids go back to school.......

Mobile phones playing bass heavy music from a speaker the size of a pea. Often more than one phone!

Buses that go past the bus stop full of school kids travelling for free, going "three stops down the road" to school. I'm forever late for work because of it!

The lil' crap magnets pushing & shoving & yelling obscene epithets at their mates.

The same lil' crap magnets staying seated whilst elderly / pregnant / infirmed passengers have to stand.

...and AGAIN the very same lil' crap magnets using the emergency exit buttons to open the back doors AT EVERY STOP, thus holding up the bus.

....as you've probably guessed, I HATE SCHOOL KIDS!

Morning sleepy , our towns children mostly go back tomorrow and my neices little one goes on thursday , the day before her 4th birthday , she is down cornwall way though.
My son is now 23 but I can still remember taking him to his first day at school , he was fine but once I got out of the school gates it was me who cried .:-) x

I'm delighted as I can go out in the car for half an hour and leave the garage door open and not have kids playing inside it and with the contents of my garage. I am not having my front door being consistently knocked with a gang of kids saying "please mister, can we have our ball back?" and I am not having footballs thrown against my front windows. I adjust my driving time to compensate the busy roads as parents take their little darlings to school (and fetch them home) and my road is back to a nice quiet area where adults rule supreme and not have to make way/give way to kids who simply own this area.
