Those with a lead in morals and civilization like the West should think more carefully before rushing into wars like Gulf War I and II and using them to take over other sovereign states for selfish interests.

Rudyard Kipling is often thought of as a bit of an imperialist warmonger - "thin red line of heroes" and all that.

His son John was killed in world war I after he'd called in favours to get him a comission.
