Doctor or Mister

I didn't know which category I should put this in so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place..

My friend has just become a doctor - my question is how do I address their Christmas card?
Dr and Mr X or Mr and Dr X

I'm confused as usually the male name is first but will her title make her first - if you see what I mean. TIA

Either Mr & Mrs X Bloggs or Mr X Bloggs & Dr Y Bloggs

Or, man's first name - and Dr. (first name) - whatever. With close friends, you can just put: Lynne & Gary - etc.

Titles aren't relevant on personal things like Christmas cards.

Sorry, I amend that last. Titles may be relevant according to what you know of Lord and Lady Whotsit and how intimate you are with them. Professional qualifications are for the workplace only.

i would have thought that as friends, you address them as you have always done, by their names.

I do call them by their first names when writing the inside of their card but she's worked so hard to get her doctorate that I thought it would be nice to address her by her title on the envelope.

It shows courtesy by acknowledging the professionally qualified before the rest. Therefore, you should address the envelope Dr FirstName LastName and Mr FirstName LastName
