Im not sure how old you are, 4candles but would suggest one of these two scenarios:
1.You were under about sixteen years of age in 1979 and are therefore not really qualified to say whether things have gone downhill as a result of Mrs Thatchers eleveation to office.
2.You were older than that and have either purposefully of accidentally forgotten what the country was like in the 1970s. More importantly, you have not considered to imagine what the country would have been like now had we continued the way we were.
Either way, I think we should be told!

Teachers on strike but instructed to cross any picket lines by local authorities. Lots of other people on strike too. Someone trying to teach me to use an offset litho press as it was deemed an essential skill for a trainee teacher.
And I got married too, on a freezing cold day in July. Thank god for global warming.

yeah come on 4candles how old where you? I bet you only got that anti MrsT stripe from getting brow beaten by left teachers who hated her because she proved their glorious socialist principles a load of cack. I bet you have no clue about the state of the place in the70's when we where on the way to becomming a state of the Soviet Union and hence what state we'd now be in without the Iron lady. Sur the cure was rough but the patient survived and prospered and I bet you have benefitted personally. Now come on answer the judge.
