I have been invited to a popstar themed party, and do not have much money to spend. What sort of suggetions? I have NEVER been to a fancy dress, so am going to be quite nervous anyway, and don't think I look remotely like anyone famous - someone mentioned Charlotte Church when I had darker hair, but apart from that I am lost....

Dip you hair in a bucket of superglue and coiffure it into a beehive style. Apply thick black eyeliner and drink far too much at the party. That way you can be passed off as Amy Winehouse. Also if you're taking a fella, make him wear a daft trilby hat in a desperate bid to be like Pete Docherty, this will give your partner a 'Blake Revel-Horward' (or whatever his name is) look.

Amy Winehouse does seem the easiest. if you go to to an Afro haircare store, you can get fake nylon hair or cheap nylon wigs, which you can matt up and make into a beehive.

Next go to Primark, buy some skinny jeans 8, a vest top 2, some flat pumps 5 and some huge gold effect creole earrings. Hey presto, you have your budget outfit. Then just apply loads of black eye make up badly and take a feltip pen and draw loads of tattoos everywhere.

Beware though, there will probably be at least 10 other women there dressed as Winehouse.
if you intend to go as Amy Whino then go out on the p1ss now and stay out untill the party starts ....you should be a dead ringer!
For some strange reason I feel that Amy W could be Mr. Tumnus, the fawn from Narnias sister.
Blues brothers. Sunglasses, dark jcket and trousers, white shirt, black tie. Done.
