No Islamic school

Here in Australia , the council and residents of a small country town south of Sydney have unanimously rejected an application to build an Islamic school. They are now being branded as racists by the Islamic community. How can this be racism , Islam is a religion not a race. I agree with them when they say that if the school is built they will eventually become a minority in their own town. You only have to go to the western suburbs of Sydney where if your not a Lebanese Muslim ....watch your back

There are currently over 100 Catholic schools in Australia. Why is an Islamic school any different?

I think any organisation that seeks to be for only one religion or race etc is seeking to isolate.

As someone mentioned above various races and relgions seek to come to the west and the try and change it to where they came from. Well if it was so bl00dy perfect back home why move out? and before anyone starts on about the Brit Ex pat communities around the world, that goes for them too.

I like where I live why would I want to go to a foriegn land and try and turn it into a corner of England, pointless!

I think it obvious that people moving to another country find parts of that country attractive. But they also find parts of their 'home' country attractive to.

It could be that they move because of the climate, the job opportunities, the healthcare, the lack of poverty or for a multitude of other reasons.

However, should they have to give up their religion to move?

Did the Catholics or Jews give up their religion or culture?

They don't have to give up their religion but they should make attempts to integrate more:
eg
- Refrain from executing their daughters for falling in love with an un approved person.
- Allow women the freedom of the nation they are in.
- Do not try and set up one religion schools etc
- Do not issue detah threats every time a bit of criticicm is forthcomming, this is the West we accept that not everyone agrees with us.
- refrain from setting up mini islamic states and no go areas.
- socialise more with the people of the host nation

Well done to these towns people. Why does the islamic culture have to want to constantly encroach into western civilisation. This dangerous religion is predominantly middle eastern and in my view

should stay there. In the UK more and more muslim women are covered from head to toe in Black. This is apparantly so they will remain modest and not be leered at by other men. Frankly they bring more attention to themselves by dressing all in black and frighten the western kids.

Presumably if the council and residents disallowed a school on the grounds that it was Muslim, whilst allowing other faith schools, this is discrimination and I would have thought unlawful in Australia.

You say that they (presumably white nominally christians?) will become a minority - are they worried about how the local population fare at the hands of the incomers - is this based on Australian history and a precedence having been set with the way the indigenous population were treated?

The Muslims want to take over the whole world just like the Christians did. Both groups (and the Jews) believe they have the only true God and the best philosophy. The believe the world is best served by everyone adopting their religion and the only reason they havn't is that they don't understand just how superior their way of life is compared to all others.

The one thing they all have in common is a evil schitzophrenic called Abraham who lived long ago. Abraham's philosophy of worship and murder is the greatest blight ever perpetrated on humanity. I implore all to have total disrespect for the vile religions based on his beliefs. They do not deserve out tolerance let alone our respect.
