Why should one feel guilty about attaining knowledge . . . I mean besides the fact that you subscribe to Christianity, a religion which condemns humanity for pursuing such practices.

Knowledge provides us with options and an improved ability to be responsible and self-supporting, reducing our dependence upon and resorting to seeking less than mutually beneficial relationships, the only seemingly rational basis for piling guilt on oneself.

There is no justification, none at all, for feeling guilty simply because you are a human being, especially one seeking to acquire the knowledge required to assume the inescapable responsibility you have for your own existence.

If you intentionally and willfully murdered someone for no good reason then hey, live with it! But I refuse to indulge in an unearned, self-defeating guilt simply because of the way an alleged god made me
Why should you feel guilty about reading anything? The acquisition of knowledge should always be embraced. If you read nothing other than that which conforms to your current philosophy, you will remain ignorant in other matters, and can never, therefore, claim to have made an informed choice.
I dont think that any religion should forbid people from gaining knowledge. Any religion should withstand knowledge and changing attitude of the people due to that.
