rearing it's ugly head in inappropriate places - again!

One of 2 suspects accused of holding up a fast food outlet has been granted name suppression for 24 hours as he is the son of a prominent figure in the church.

The father was allowed this time so he could inform the other prominent church members of his sons arrest!

Why is this nonsense allowed? What the bugg@ry boll0cks has it got to do with the church?

The same would happen - and has happened - if the father was prominent in other fields too - politics for example. Of course it's not right - but it's not what you are, but who you are that counts!

I don't see a problem with this - the son is being treated in exactly the same way as any other son of a prominent person in the public eye; he will be charged and processed in exactly the same way as any other person committing this offence and his name will be released after a mere 24 hours.
