It's a bungalow, on a hill, nice views over a valley, faces west south west, big oak tree in garden.

Something like 'Oak View' seems obvious, but can anyone come up with something nice sounding?

I'm not feeling overly creative...

"TheBungalowOnTheHillWithNiceWestSouthWesterlyViewsOverAValleyPsItsAlsoGotOaksInTheGarden"
Please will you translate that into Welsh.
Sylvan Meadow

A little obvious, but how about "Valleyview".
I do hope squidgster comes back and tells us what he/she does decide to call it....LOL

he could call it....THE HOUSE AT THE TOP OF THE HILL..

howsaboutthat!!
Afterglow.....just listening to Genesis and thought it sounded okay...
Awww Razz...that IS nice...you old romantic you ;-)
Jus thought of another 'House of the Rising Sun'....
How about "Welcome Home".
Silk... I think house names are very personal....personally I've been living in my house all this time and am still thinking about a name............can't stand those 'sweetie' names myself......guided meditation should sort it out ...lol
They would laff at me in my street if i gave my house a name...

the house i lived in in M. Street didnt have a good name....lol
for another reason entirely....the neighbours hated us ...hehehe
LOL - then how about "Leaveoffitsour Manor" !
..but you gotta admit it had personality......A house without personality .........no name required! :-)
lol - it just oozed of personality....many many personalities....LOL LOL
How about 'Dderwen'? It's Welsh for 'oak tree'. (No, I haven't got a clue as to how you should pronounce it!).

You can have some fun, coming up with some more Welsh ideas here:
http://www.translation-guide.com/free_online_t ranslators.php?from=English&to=Welsh

But remember that you should always check online translations by reversing them. For example, that site states that 'view over the valley' translates as 'golyga ar 'r bant'. Unfortunately, asking it to translate 'golyga ar 'r bant' back into English gives the meaning as 'I edit signs'! ;-)

Chris
The house I grew up in was called 'hope cottage' This name was given to it when it was built not added.

I think it's nice.
Aww ummmm that's lovely...i do like it...however this house is a bungalow....cant see 'Hope Bungalow' working...

however, there's always 'Bungalow Bill'.....*snigger* sorry could'nt resist....i'm in a funny mood tonite...LOL
