Is it traditional to have a cake at an engagement party?
13 Answers
Hi all, I have recently got engaged, and as its my first time, so I was wondering whether its traditional to have a "cake" at the engagement party? Silly question I know, but how foolish will I look when the expectant guests are possibly dissapointed by the lack of cake!
Thanks in advance

However, I would say it is NOT traditional to have a cake.....................whether or not it has become usual, is a different matter.........

Was at work Chuck, logged on 5 minutes ago and zero'd in on it, so not bad going really.
Ok, in all seriousness, no I don't think it's traditional to have a cake at an engagement party, but like rinkins said, if you want cake, get a cake and be damned!
Actually, being pedantic, there's bugger all traditional about having a party to celebrate your engagement anyway.
