I do, because the late and much-missed Alan Coren tells us in one of his pieces. He says that when he took Princess Michael of Kent to see it "her response was so earthy a giggle that grown men within a radius of 50 yards went off for a bit of a lie down".

What makes it so funny is that it wasn't intended to be sallacious - it's not a nude or anything - but very solemn. Do you know what it is?

Ill take over when the statue gets tired!
There's a bust of Sir Arthur Sullivan (of Gilbert & Sullivan) with a statue of semi-clad nymph embracing the plinth on which it sits. It's sited on the Embankment and has been called 'the most erotic statue in London'. Is that it, Chakka?
Nice one Jayne!! And it's this one Naomi refers to, (the text describes it as being the most erotic in London)...

he confirmed it in an article in the times sept 7 2005.
If it's supposed to look like he's getting a BJ it doesn't, unless Sullivan's willy came out the side of his knee.
I must say I thought whoever coined the phrase had a rather over-active imagination. :o)

Yes, naomi, or just a dirty mind, presumably like Princess Michael's. It looks 'best' when seen from the left of the lady.
Ah well, a moment's fun from the solemnities we usually engage in.
Chakka, I was going to comment on the condition of Princess Michael's mind - but I knew you'd not let it go unnoticed. :o)
the statue was erotic because Princess Michael of Kent giggled at it??? hmmmmm
I wonder if it is this statue of Achilles at Hyde Park Corner?

Yes,it DOES have a p£nis under the bronze fig leaf.
Sadly, the fig leaf does still get stolen (usually by drunk revellers) so the park Superintendent has two spare ones!
When the statue was unveiled the Times said "The statue's errection was paid for by the Ladies Guild of London"
Errection meant something else in Victorian days obviously!
