Am the big 60 next month and friends tell me there are entitlements awaiting. I know about free prescriptions and eye tests . What other delights await? Thanks

You'll be among the last people to get certain entitlements at the age of 60. Bus passes and pension credits, for example, are tied to the age at which a woman becomes eligible for their state pension. (A man's entitlement is based upon that of a woman born on the same day). As of this April, the state pension age for women starts to rise. So, for example, I won't get a bus pass or pension credits until I'm 63 years and 16 days old. (I'll be 57 in April).
