Parked on the drive of a house is a car ( the type / make you see on the streets of Cuba , for example i.e very old ) that has been sitting there - in the same spot - for the last 30 years plus .
All the bodywork is rotted and has been that way for the last 30 years plus
Each time I drive past - i'm tempted to stop and knock on the door and ask why they are keeping it .
What similiar example do you know of - not necessarily a motor vehicle , but an object that you would not expect to be still where it is ?

I suppose if it lasts long enough it will become a valuable antique. I've just been looking at ancient Greek jugs in a museum; it's amazing to think someone painted tham maybe 5000 years ago - further from the time of Christ than we are ourselves - and they're still around. Vauxhalls have some way to go.

That huge boat makes the abandoned surf board (a huge one) in our communal back yard seem tame. However the surf board has travelled back to Scotland from Australia.
All bow to the amazing Google - it is amazing what you can see out there, in the big bad world, without leaving the comfort of my home.

Geezer, as said, I think it's a Vauxhall from the early 60s.

Happened to be driving past again , and noticed an elderley lady standing outside the house .
Curiousity got the better of me - so i stopped and went over and spoke with her ( very pleasant lady )
She advised me that in the garage there is another , car which her son bought in the early 1960's ( which wasn't new at the time it was purchased )
The car on the drive was bought afterwards for parts ; in order to restore the car in the garage .
The car on drive is a Vauxhall - and the model is a ' Cresta ' - she beleives ( I assume therefore that the car in garage is also of the same make and model )
Just another one of those jobs to do - 50 years on
