not as far as i am concerned, but with us brits anything and everything is fair game for a gag or two.
I'm not racist but I laugh at racist jokes.

How does every racist joke begin?

By looking over your shoulder!!
Ratter, What breed of dog is that in your pic?? He's huge!!
supersuezy, That is Gilligan, he is a 15 month old Irish Wolfhound, probably the worlds most gentle breed but also the worlds tallest, we have two of them.
If you find a joke like that funny, people (some people) will label you a racist.

That is because those people WANT racists to exist ... they NEED them to exist.

The real racists are the people who hear a joke involving race, and shout "racist".

Some people see humour, and teasing ... others instinctively see racism.

Go figure !
Oh my God Ratter, He is huge!! Ibrought a Pyrennean Mountain Dog for a walk once and thought he was big but oh my God the Irish Wolfhound is Massive!!
I get a lot of jokes sent to me and a lot of them could be considered racist. I don't find racist jokes funny at all and normally tell the person who sent me it. ~I'm called a killjoy but hey, I don't care.
I don't find anything particularly funny about racist jokes...I always think " how would YOU feel..."
Most people who think they are funny will never have such humour directed at THEM.
Oh...by the way RATTER , I have always wanted a wolfhound....the ones I have seen are always such placid beasts.
Someday...when I have a LOT of space.....
Sometimes racist jokes work on a level were they are just funny, regardless of the racist overtones. Anyway I would say you are not necessarily racist if you laugh.
I am jogging with JJ today. If a joke is funny it is not racial except to a racist.

We really need to loosen up a bit. As a Nation we've become so afraid of offending anyone that we're bending backwards to accommodate many ungrateful and demanding racists who play on Britain's generosity. (I suppose this is racist too) .
Racist jokes are safest (and best) told by a member of the race the joke is aimed at ... Woody Allen or Joan Rivers about Jews, Stephen K Amos or Reginald D Hunter about blacks, and so on. Finding these kind of jokes funny is (probably!) OK.

If you take delight at fun/abuse/stereotypes poked at a race by a non-member of that race, you're on much more dangerous ground ...
Are you asking who is the most expensive football player in the world?
No I don't think it does make you racist. I find most things funny and I'm not racist. We (Irish) have loads of jokes aimed at us....I've yet to see a Paddy offended.
If you look at jokes, most are racist, religious or misfortune.
Jokes can have a racial element without being racist

One of my favourite Irish jokes is:

"Did you hear about the Irish boomerang?

It doesn't come back but sits around singing about how it would like to"

That's great because it leads people into thinking - here comes another mindless "the Irish are stupid stereotype - what's the answer a stick?"

and then it hits with a different Irish stereotype - with perhaps more than a degree of truth in it!
ummm, I was about to say just that, the Irish laugh with you !
Speaking of the Irish, I hear there is now a 12 month waiting list for abortions in Ireland!!
or the Irish dog, lay down chewing a bone, when he stood up his leg fell off!!
Sooooooo offensive Ratter....lol
