Quite often I answer the phone to callers whose foreign accents I cannot understand and so put the phone down. Do other ABers have this problem? I have no intention of being rude or disrespectful, but who are these people and is there any way of getting it over that some foreign accents are too difficult to understand to carry on a conversation?
Sometimes with people from call centre's I have a bit of fun, mainly it is an Indian accent that calls and they can't understand me (I'm cockney) and its them that says
"Pardon"
I have been known to do any number of evil things including preteding they have accidently got through to a call centre I try to sell them double glazing or health insurance...that is fun...I will also do the leave the phone off the hook til they give up...
pretend to be a restaurant and try to take an order... or play music to them if the cd player is on... depends how I feel...at times I even pretend to be interested for a while ... and insisting on them giving you the password is a good one too
