steam and cyber punk

Yes, I liked it - a bit heavy going in places, ie difficult to follow plot wise, but very good.

yes - go with that one rather than any others by the same author because it's the first of a trilogy - I made the mistake of starting on the second one before I realised, and had to go out and buy the first one.

i first heard of steam punks in the chap magazine, then one sunday i saw two steam punks in lincoln. Seeing as not a lot happens in lincoln and it is usually way behind any movement/fashion i thought this rather odd.

but a bit of digging and i found out they have a steam punk party each year.

personally it is not my thing, but i do think it is quite cool, espescially some of the stuff they produce, the japanese animi hywels flying castle gives a good example of what a steam punk world would be like.

Just to add to Ludwigs recommendation re Stephen Hunts Court of the Air and associated books in the trilogy such as The Kingdom Beyond the Waves.

Interesting concept, Steampunk - and by association, one of my all-time favourite Sci-Fi Novels,The Diamond Age: Or, A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer , by Neal Stephenson. Victorian Empire meets nanotechnology :)
