Does anyone know if its true that the salvation army do not lower their flags when at the cenotaph? If this is the case, can you tell me why.

I don't know, but as they are a religious organisation and not a military one it may be true.
I don't know - but I can't imagine them being that disrespectful. The Sally Ann is second to none - and that comes from someone who isn't religious.

My brother played the cornet in the band - and I took a tamborine home when I was three but they came round for it a fortnight later. Drat!
Is that what turned you against religion, Naomi?
dont know answer to your question june06,dont think anything disrespectful from the savation army, they do so much good.
The Salvation Army flag is a symbol of the war against sin. This war is never won, so the flag is never lowered.
thanks for that chanel5 very informative, cheers
is that a fact chanel, or an inspired guess?
Salvation Army band played at our British Legion Remembrance Sunday parade and afterwards were invited into the club for refreshments........most of the band politely declined the coffee and biscuits but got stuck into the beer. They didn't have a flag so it wasn't dipped.
