I got a text last wednesday evening, from an unknown number, asking quite simply but strangely - "And just who the f*** is Chipmunk?".

I got no response from my reply of "What?".

Just found out it's an old mate, changed her number, and was watching the soap awards, one of which was presented by a music guy called Chipmunk.

I can rest now. Mystery solved.

Just thought I'd share that. Haven't had such a random bizarre mysterious text such as this in quite a few weeks.

mystery solved........... great ?
I got a text once saying....''I think they are on to us but don't worry I have the money, meet me at St Johns at 12 tonight for yours!''

My boss at the time and myself were in fits thinking we had discovered a big bank job and were even contemplating going to meet them! Of course we didn't and I found out months later it was my brother on a wind up! He 's still stored on my phone as ''The Bank Robber''

When we first had an answering machine, I got two random messages from a complete stranger advising that she would call for her dog basket (?) next week.

It proves that people don't listen to phone greetings, live or machine - they are busy thinking what they are going to say.
lol i love random texts

So do I. I might just send some tonight, out of sheer devilment ;-)
Following Mrs McM putting my mobile in the wash I bought a replacement and am now being bombarded by spam from Orange and BBC. Haven't worked out how to stop it yet.
ooo good thinking i might do the same
I've had an answer phone message left on my mobile that said "Hi Mark, it's your mother in law, just checking you got home safely" (for those that don't know my name is Mark)

slightly confusing to say the least!
I have just popped home from Big Sis' to a solitary answer message from a lady with a very husky foreign accent asking if I can call her to overhaul her central heating system as she has just returned from a 3 months holiday. I am sorely tempted to make an appointment ;o)
i once rang my dad and had a delightfully mental conversation with this him until it finally dawned on us that we had the wrong father/daughter combo
'delightfully mental' - was it Mr Kipling, fluff?
might of been ena, might very well of been
I had a 'live' message left for me once with the present Mrs Hughes, while I was out at a gig, which advised the following -

"Is Andy there? Well, can you tell him it's Caroline, I can't meet him tonight, but I'll call him next week to arrange to meet up."

Great! I don't know anyone called Caroline, and i hadn't arranged to meet anyone, so this went down really well - fortunately my wife knows me well enough to know that this was just a nix-up.
That would explain a lot if it was.
Haha! I answered the phone to my "grandad" on Christmas morning when I was 8 and we had a ten minute long convo about the presents I'd had. Only when my mum took the phone from me that we realised it was someone else's grandad. :D

Aren't grandads and dads sweet on the phone. My dad avoids it wherever possible - he only answers when he absolutely has to, say when mother's on the lav or indisposed. He hates it and finishes the conversation as soon as he can. Bless, I love him so.
I once had an answerphone message saying
"Hi Gino. We've gone on holiday, would you mind feeding the rabbit for us."

I had visions of someone coming home to the skeletal remains of a starved pet. I ended up ringing the woman on her mobile in Portugal. Cost me a bloody fortune.
Did you rabbit on, mrs_o?
No....but the woman was a very happy bunny
Hare, hare
