Imagine there's a heaven
If you believe it to be true,
And if you believe in nothingness,
Then that's what comes to you.
Imagine what you believe whilst here,
Is your reward hereafter.
Would you keep your beliefs in happiness
Or believe something else that you wish for?

I've read that several times - and I'm still not with you, Flobadob.
Imagine there's a reason
To believe only what is true
That to believe in an illusion
Is to deny that which is you
Imagine what you learn whilst here
Can make your life worth living
Would you invest your hopes in mindless dreams
Or what can be obtained by giving?
Next please
Nice one mibn2cweus
Imagine there's a heaven
Imagine there's a hell
Imagine there's a Santa Claus
and a tooth fairy as well.

Then one day truth and fact imbues
when reality's awash,
and all this pious claptrap
became just a load of tosh.
Imagine this, You need to travel to a certain destination. For guidance, you turn to a trusted friend who knows the way. As he gives you thorough directions, he might say something like this: “Be careful about that next turn. The sign is misleading. A lot of people follow it and wind up getting lost.” Would you appreciate his concern and heed the warning? In some ways, Jesus is like that friend. He gives us careful directions about how to reach our destination of everlasting life, but he also warns us about bad influences that could cause us to go the wrong way (PS. 119:128)

DT, you're getting good at this. :o)
I am having a hard time in recognising this view of god, or jesus, as a kind of spiritual Tom Tom. No better than an agony aunt in a glossy magazine, it seems to me.
He's a fool.
....whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matt 5:22
Imagine a trusted friend who despite their sincerity really had no idea and was more concerned with saving face by providing any answer rather than admitting they had no idea.

Wouldn't it be better to make the decision on you own observation than to blindly accept the judgement of another?
