It is not my purpose of this to ridicule the views either of fundamentalists or of those who choose not to believe in God.
Rather, it is our hope that this will prompt you to examine again the basis for some of your beliefs.
I will present an explanation of the Bible’s account of creation that you may not have previously considered. And it will emphasize why it really does matter what you believe about how life began.
Will you trust the claims of those who say that there is no intelligent Creator and that the Bible is unreliable? Or will you examine what the Bible actually says? Which teachings are worthy of your trust, your faith: those of the Bible or those of evolutionists? (Hebrews 11:1)

What about the teachings of all the other faiths, elderman? Your conviction is not the only one, there are not only two choices - yours or none. There are plenty of alternatives, each as worthy as the one you believe.

Not interested.

So where's your presentation?

Who's 'our'. You and your alter ego, Goodlife?

I've examined the bible - and it's teachings are not worthy of my trust.

The first part of Genesis indicates that the earth could have existed for billions of years before the first Genesis “day,” though it does not say for how long. However, it does describe what earth’s condition was just before that first “day” began: “Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep; and God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters.”—Genesis 1:2.

Many consider the word “day” used in Genesis chapter 1 to mean 24 hours. However, in Genesis 1:5 God himself is said to divide day into a smaller period of time, calling just the light portion “day.” In Genesis 2:4 all the creative periods are called one “day”: “This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time of their being created, in the day [all six creative periods] that God made earth and heaven.”
The Hebrew word yohm, translated “day,” can mean different lengths of time. Among the meanings possible, William Wilson’s Old Testament Word Studies includes the following: “A day; it is frequently put for time in general, or for a long time; a whole period under consideration . . . Day is also put for a particular season or time when any extraordinary event happens.”1 This last sentence appears to fit the creative “days,” for certainly they were periods when extraordinary events were described as happening. It also allows for periods much longer than 24 hours.
@ Elderman - see, this is the problem with cut and pasting other peoples words / text. It devalues the message and it is passing off the work of others as your own, unless you offer attribution - which you never do.Lying for Jesus, in other words.

And its remarkable how others of faith jump to the defence of such dishonest practice- like jno defending your plagiarism as just something that happens. Regardless, it is still dishonest in a debating forum to do this. What you actually want it seems is a pulpit from which to preach - which is why you never engage with rebuttal or counterargument - And others of faith think this is worthy practice? Its shameful, is what it is.

I mean, just look at what you have posted above - "I will present an explanation of the Bible’s account of creation that you may not have previously considered" - Except you arent, are you? The person who wrote it is doing the presenting - you are just plagiarising.

I will trust the science thanks very much, and disregard fable from a collection of morality stories. One thing is for sure - someone who continues to plagiarise, to pass off others original work as their own, who is to ashamed of their own particular sect of religion to own up to it - That person inspires no trust, no credibility whatsoever.

LG-Naomi.......// I've examined the bible - and it's teachings are not worthy of my trust.// Your lost then. Yet, I cannot avoid situations where I am forced to waste some of that precious time with people like you.
Elderman, do not worry about wasting 'precious time', If it is your creator's purpose that you struggle to give his message to the unenlightened then he will give you as much time as you need so it is not then 'precious'. If on the other hand it is not your creator's purpose andyou are wasting your own limited quota of time then you can only blame yourself.

//Who Deserves The Credit?//

If you mean who deserves blame for the 'creation' myth . . . I'll pass.

As for a rational account of how we came to to ask, not who, but what gave rise to our existence, a great deal of the credit for that belongs to someone who actually did exist . . . Darwin. PBUH

Maybe we should design an Eldeman baiting robot too. He reads very little of what anyone else posts so it would probably keep him going and make about as much sense as his cr@p.
Happy new year Elderman. Your insalubrious obsession with the bible is to be pitied, but here's hoping you will see the error of your ways in the coming year.
Elderman, why is your time so precious? You have all eternity so time is one thing that will never be in short supply for you.
Naomi, Elderman won't be able to post from the beyond the pearly gates as satan controls the only hot spot in the other world.
Mmmm ... that's a point. But won't Satan go the same way as you and I when God zaps us and all the other sinners into oblivion? Just think! Elderman will be able to post to his heart's content - and there will be nobody left to disagree with him. Bliss!
Having nobody to disagree is the ultimate goal of Abrahamic faiths.

With total uniformity of all people there will be lasting peace. Adolph Hitler had the same idea when he tried to kill everyone who had different values from the Master Race and the Motherland.

Hebrews did it too in their genocide but were more successful, probably because they had less people to get rid of. They only wanted the Chosen Race in the Promised Land.
