i think actually it is the constant feeling of judgement and attempts to convert that has made people steer clear in their droves more and more over the centuries... the pushy preaching attitude seems, in the long run, to have the opposite effect than intended.

Sith, No criticism of you, as your experience of stormtroopers is relatively benign. Sandy was being a bit mischievous using the word 'stormtrooper' as it implies (probably ironically) a degree of religious fervour that seems to be somewhat lacking from the proselytisers.
