On a slightly more serious note, if they had used a sample of, say, mine workers or firemen they would find a disproportionally high incidence of early death.
Are firemen in league with the devil?
Whoever used that list for the reasons he used it is a disgusting specimen of humanity. He and his God deserve each other.
Is it basically saying that all 'rock stars' are inherently evil/bad people so they will all die young?
Of course the long lived ones haven't died yet and as rock and roll has not been going long enoug to give a full set of statistics. The results are biased but what else would youu expect from someone making a religious point?
Lies, damn lies and statistics
isn't the missing statistic the one that says how many of the deceased believed in the Lord? Even the Singing Nun committed suicide.
Jno, I didn't know that about the singing nun, very sad. I think the moral is that Rock and roll (along with reggae)is the work of the devil and effectively cancels out love in the lord.
the Singing Nun fell out with the Catholic church, and with her convent (who seem to have taken all her royalties and left her with a huge tax bill, one of the factors that drove her to suicide); but I believe she remained a Christian. Her story is very sad.

The glaring problem with the list is this: The rockstar era is only around 50 years old. They are saying that the list is unbiased because they looked at all dead rockstars. But as the oldest rockstars are only now getting to the age when they would die naturally, that means that the entire list of dead rockstars can only include those who died early.

Sorry jomifl, just realised that you'd already made my point!
I've seen that avatar somewhere before.......

I hope you noticed the subtle difference Eccles

This is the first in my "Avatar Tribute" series...
Rojash, since we both spotted the same flaw independantly I think our thought processes must have been guided by a higher power....logic. Do you think these theists will ever get the hang of not walking on thin ice? It is a bugger when you post something and find that someone else has said the same thing. ;-)
In that case I shall concentrate on feeling flattered to be the first rather than feeling like a victim of identity theft ;-)
Eccles...pathfinder or victim, the choice is yours.
The list is selective of those who died relatively young.

What about all those still alive and going strong in their sixties and seveties?
So not Cliff Richard then?

"So not Cliff Richard then?"

I don't know if you notice jomifl, but they have another page on the site dedicated to condemning "Christian Rock" musicians.
Surely that is their path to salvation (from something, probably christianity)
