One of the two very limited categories of taxpayer who, by law, are not required to file VAT Returns online, when this becomes compulsory shortly, is the following:

"businesses run exclusively by people who are practising members of a religious group whose beliefs are incompatible with the use of computers"

Does anyone know which group(s) might qualify?

Off the top of my head, I can only think of the Amish (which isn’t really relevant in this country), or Judaism - but that would only apply on the Sabbath. Perhaps the form attempts to cover all possibilities - but I'll keep thinking.
Possibly the Mennonites...
The Mennonites, whilst following basically the same belief system as the Amish, are more accepting of modern technology – and again, it’s doubtful they’d figure in British tax laws.
there are Mennonites in Wood Green, but I don't know how conservative they are about technology.
Can I get VAT off my current religion rates then, as it's incompatible with my use of computers. ;-)
The exclusive brethren dont use computers.

about two thirds of the way down. They dont allow their children to use computers at school either.
Barking mad if you ask me.
I was going to have a stab at JWs, but it seems that they are now allowed to even listen to the radio! When did this change?
