Genesis lies !

The Beginning
Genesis 1 . And God said , And God said , And God said, ......................
And God called , And God called , And God called, .................
And God saw that it was good, And God saw that it was good,
And God blessed, And God blessed , And God blessed,.........
Not a word of this can be true because it is reported speech and no one was there. Whether you believe the world is 4 billion or 5 thousand years old it is of no relevance . Whenever it was, there were no witnesses so it was made up and written by man .
So are Judaism, Christianity and Islam all based on lies ?

Religion gives them something that they think might provide the answers. If it wasn't Judaism, and all the others, it would be something else. Those who believe that religion is the answer to 'why are we here' don't care if their religion is based on lies. I think that, since nobody really knows if Genesis is true or not, it doesn't much matter, so long as believers have something, anything, to worship.
You are all right but unfortunately I don't think what you say Eddie is borne out in practice with the theists : # Now very very few people even priests believe it to be true. It is for guidance only .#
I asked a group of vicars, who had a combined talk in our village hall, whether they believed in the biblical description of creation and they all accepted it in general terms. The same thing applies to the Jehovah Witnesses and the Creationists who number several hundred thousand .
The other important point is that even if it is only guidance it is man made guidance , it is not the words of a God. Moses was a clever leader and may have written much of what is in Genesis and Exodus including the Commandments which have a social and moral value, and then used God to give it credence . Which is the story of all religions for thousands of years.

Clearly God's many messengers spread the word - and someone wrote it down. Same old ......
//Moses was a clever leader and may have written much of what is in Genesis and Exodus //
Historically there's no evidence that Moses existed - but if he did, and he actually wrote that which is attributed to him, he must have been an extremely clever fellow because it seems he recorded his own death.

God is also used to give credence to the genocidal massacres conducted by the Hebrews under the guidance of Joshua as they invaded "The Promised Land". It lends support to the oppression of women.
Far from being taken as guidance, even metaphorically, all the books of the Abrahamic religions are nothing more than institutionalised tribal prejudice.
The various editions of "God's Word" are politically motivated attempts to wrench control from the oligarchies who based their power on the earlier books.
