All the Abrahamic faiths including Christianity eagerly await Armageddon where their particular brand of "true" faith will be universal across the planet and the unfaithful will all die at the command of their supreme deity.
Unfortunately each faction has a slightly different ending and all justify the means with the ends. Just like Hitler in his goal of killing everyone who was different the peace envisaged as the result of this purge is no utopia but instead a fascist theocracy where the ruling oligarchy insists their determination is beyond reproach.

They all pretend they are philosophies of peace but the fact remains their foundational texts foresee a glorious conflict where the dead unbelievers are piled high.
Religious apologists pretend that the holy words of the Bible and Qu'ran are misused but any objective reading of these texts reveals a primitive philosophical pretext rooted in ancient tribal prejudice. This attitude is revealed over and over again.
Hard surprising since we are discussing the musings of ancient men who were most likely suffering from epileptic seizures of the temporal lobes of the brain.
Google it.

Having had my wrist slapped on another thread for my above post perhaps I had better clarify the sub text.
All religions are essentially selfish, some more so than others. The Jews consider themselves god's chosen people so will go to heaven automatically. I am sure they find very comforting. The other abrahamic religions do allow others into their club, but at the price of devotion and subservience of varying degrees. So the reason for joining one of the clubs is to go to heaven, not to make life better for others or to save others from hell but to save oneself. Some religions try to ensure that they are the only ones to go to heaven by killing anyone that disagrees with them. I find it difficult to 'respect' such a selfish and narrow mindset. All religions seem to look down on non members yet cry out in horror when they themselves are treated with the same contempt or disdain. Ironically they all think they are right when in practice none of them can be.

Ah now Mike you are putting words in my mouth, I was being deliberately ambiguous for fear of being reprimanded for casting (or not) a slur on Inverness and the sexual morality of it's womenfolk. My personal experience of the women of Inveress is that they are all as pure as the driven snow. However I was only driving through so perhaps not to much reliance should be placed on my observations.
