Today, millions of people from various backgrounds have learned from the Bible the truth about Jehovah. (Isa. 2:2, 3) Some were atheists or deists, but they became convinced of the existence of a Creator.

Others worshipped a triune god or various idols. Before they learned that Jehovah alone is the almighty God, and they now address him by his personal name. That is in line with the fact that Jesus said his disciples should be baptized in the name of the Father.

Birdie , Goodlife takes the view that the Bible is a work which is inspired by God , and he qoutes various parts of it and makes various points . I see nothing wrong with that .
What exactly do you want me to do Birdie - do you want me to denounce Goodlife because he hasn't answered my every point in exactly the way that I wanted ? Goodlife isn't on trial here...

Theland, can you ask if my next phone bill will be as extortionate as normal please?
goodlife - I am seriously interested to know why rational people should be impressed by the quotations you keep trotting out. The only identifiable author of any part of the bible is Paul, who certainly wrote at least some of the epistles attributed to him.

All the rest of the bible is anonymous, so why do you place such store by it? Do you automatically believe and quote any old stuff that anyone writes, without knowing anything about them?

These are serious questions. Please answer them in the same vein.
Maybe there's no need to ask, Duncer. I can’t put my finger on the right verse just now – but the chances are it’s been prophesied. ;o)

(Sorry Theland - couldn't resist it). :o)
Chakka, I shouldn't hold your breath waiting for the response you seek - but your question is an excellent one and deserves its own thread.
Theland, perhaps the shortfall in his bank account and as a result of the leccy bill can be made up this way?

Chakka-The Bible educational program broadens people’s understanding of the origin of human rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that man has rights because he is a rational and moral being.

So as a result of this Bible-based education, millions of people today do not learn war any more. A change of mind and heart has taken place. Presently, more than 1,000 people a day, on an average, complete the basic study courses conducted by Jehovah’s Witnesses and join our worldwide work for peace. Good news indeed
Chakka, told you not to hold your breath. :o/
Goodlife , thank you for your responses and the information that you've given .
Nice attempt at a little pat on the back there, Argorstran - but he hasn't answered the question has he?! No change there!
Naomi I asked Goodlife for some responses and he's given some . I'm not here to mock him .
argorstran. unless I’ve overlooked something, as far as I can see you asked //Goodlife what is your view of people who believe in God but follow other religions ?// - and I can’t see a direct answer to that.

I am not here to mock him either – but rather than offer support for no other reason than that he is religious – which is what you appear to be doing - I will challenge not only his philosophy, but also his failure to respond to valid questions – such as yours.

NO.But if the Bible’s message is so valuable, why do so many remain blinded to its good news? For one thing, (1 John 5:19) you have eyes and a brain that interprets what you see. So being blind is also defined as being “unable or unwilling to discern. This calls to mind a popular saying: “None so blind as those who won’t see. I meet people like you every day.

"...mindless.."(your word not mine)- Birdie read through the extensive answers that I have given in many R+S questions - then come back and tell me that I'm mindless .
Goodlife, //But if the Bible’s message is so valuable, why do so many remain blinded to its good news?//

Do they? What about believers who interpret it differently to you? Argorstran asked you what you think of them – but you still haven’t told him.

I very much doubt you meet people like me every day. I know the bible – and my opinion of it emanates directly from my clear and unbiased vision.
