Here's a quote from a religious leader on the rape and murder of a 23yo woman...
"This tragedy would not have happened if she had chanted God's name and fallen at the feet of the attackers. The error was not committed by just one side,"
Is it not time that the branches of religions that support this type of krap are discouraged from operating in Western worlds? We can't do much in the Middle East except support the opponents to this ludicrous practice.?
Or there's the case of the 15 year old Yemenite girl married off to a 90 year old Saudi who has managed to escape from the barricaded house. He now wants the dowry back. Saudi has no minimum marital age - yet. (reference today's Daily Tel)
I read that too wildwood. What a stupid silly person he is. If he's a guru there's no chance of a fair deal there. That illustrates exactly how Asian men behave towards their women. I have a real dislike for those countries where ignorant selfish men treat women like dirt. I wish it could happen to him, let him feel the fear. Rant over, thank you.
that's the problem with these religions (societies) that have different value based systems to ours. After all, let's look at it another way - imagine what they think of us in India when you see folk beating each other up and mashing the police all over the flying of a flag in Northern Ireland. Such so-called "leaders" in society are pathetic.
Unfortunately, contrary to Craft's statement that he is not a religious leader, his followers see him as exactly that. However, she is right in saying he's a nutter. Don't know why anyone's surprised though. Backward cultures produce backward people.
He makes himself and his religion look idiotic, spiteful, ignorant and bigoted. He has revealed the absolute bottom-line-truth of his religion, which is that it was constructed by men in order to control women. Like all male-dominated religions, Hinduism makes women inferior to men so that men can keep women confined and isolated in order to make sure no cuckoos appear in their nests. religion accepts ( but does not state) that a man's worst fear is to find his "children" have been fathered on his wife by another man. Religion sets out to give men the right to reduce that risk to the lowest possible level.
Its a similar situation to the republican politician in the USA who stated that in the event of a "legitimate" rape a womans body could shut down to prevent pregnancy therefore abortion after a rape should not be permitted (as the woman was somehow complicit). He was a christian political leader rather than a Hindu spiritual leader so he was blamed for his own comments rather than his religion in general or his "backward" culture.
I can see you do have a problem, I have to face this every day, but people do accept the conclusions that scientists reach when they claim that man is evolved from beasts, and it is widely believed.
As a result of such teachings, also scientists say that there is no God, this too is often accepted. Also, since we cannot see God, there are those who conclude that he must not exist. So, atheism and agnosticism increase. Sad, so what would you like to do.
@JNO I am unclear, reading your last post, who was directed at?
@ Goodlife. Just tried to comprehend you post, and am struggling. I fail to understand how your general points about the heresy of evolution and the general spread of atheism is even remotely relevant to the OP?
There`s always going to be one or two nutters with extreme views. He's just a Guru. There are thousands of Guru's iin India. I'm not sure how much influence they have but I was in Delhi at the weekend and the likes of him certainly didn't get any news coverage.
