Failing that, watch an episode of Eastenders, to remind oneself that, no matter how bad things appear, they cannot be as bad as the doom and gloom shown in that show!
Other than that - family, friends. If its more legal or financial, Citizens Advice Bureau are pretty good.

Yes, I agree with you.
The Bible tells us: “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6, 7)
Yes, the Bible is a practical guide in at least two ways. First, it offers a realistic view of what constitutes a better way of life. Secondly, it has the power to motivate people to make the necessary changes to attain that better way of life.

I found the resource of my own experience and perhaps medical advice to be more than adequate to turn any unhappiness around, and try to do the same for others. Anything that can not possibly be fixed should be accepted as a part of life, and not brooded over for years. Make the most of what you got, there is always someone worse off than you.
The Bible, ha ha - reminds me of when my old next door neighbour, a Gospel Pastor used to ask me to come and fix his laptop, I used to ask him if he had looked in the Bible for the answer because that was his answer to me for everything! Top bloke though, we used to have a right laugh.
Seriously though unhappiness is caused by YOU and nobody else, you choose how you let external events affect you - with anything you have 3 choices: (a) leave it (b) change it, or (c) accept it, if you don't do one if these 3 things you will be unhappy - the biggest cause of unhappiness is not accepting that you cannot leave or change certain things.
