Atheists don't hate God, they just don't believe there is a God.

So who would the God haters be?

Very good question Ratter, never really thought about it before. If there are God lovers and those of us who do not beleive, who are the God haters?

Can only be the believers who are unfortunate enough to be dealing with awful life expereinces. Grief, conflict, violence, shock, abuse....all of these are extremely difficut to cope with without the added emotion of feeling let down by God.

Yes, there are most certainly people who hate God! Many will be children! I was such a child and I remember the feeling all too well. I was brought up a Catholic and because of my parents'' being very prominent in our community at the time, we had several friends who were priests, who used to come around our house every weekend. And one of these so called "friends" was a child molester! He kept me quiet by telling me that God would see to it that I would burn in hell if I told my parents of our "little secret" and that, in any case, nobody would believe me and I would be severely punished by God and my parents. My parents never knew! Then, when i was in a convent boarding school, one of the nunns used to regularly whip me with a cane and humiliate me in front of other children. She lied to my parents and made me lie to them (threatening that I would burn in hell if I spoke to them about some of the things that went on). Yes, as a child I learned to hate God for allowing his "holy" representatives to do this to me!! I am sure there are many others out there who have experienced the same.

MrsLulu, you are once again showing your ignorance of the Old Testament. I suggest you read it sometime; you'll discover that your God committed more crimes against humanity than Hitler, Stalin, and a dozen other tyrants put together and multiplied a thousandfold.

It's a good job I don't believe in him. I couldn't bear the thought that such evil ever existed. And there are people who actually worship him...how very weird.
