We all do what works best for us, and all of us believe in something whether it's God, Buddha, Saints etc., or the power of our minds. Exploring ones beliefs in times of needs and distress could be very comforting, calming and sometimes healing.
I love that throw-away line from LindaB - that her prayers "are usually answered". Rather like "I had a go at squaring the circle and succeeded after ten minutes".
It needs a separate thread, I suppose, but I'd love to know how she defines "answered".
"Usually answered" could mean no, I suppose. But I always find that slightly annoying, that it's virtually impossible to get a negative result in anything to do with religion or prayer. "I prayed and got what I asked for"/ "I prayed but God said no." 100% response rate but impossible to test!
