I don't think that religion is a neurosis any more than cleaning, organising, taking precautions against being burgled, or choosing a healthy diet is. Khandro, au contraire! I read your post, and I’ve responded to it with positive criticism. Nothing negative - or safe - about that.

I do think though that those things (and thousands of others) may be taken to extremes by people who have a tendency to neurosis. they can also be taken to extremes by people who have a psychological need to control others or used politically by unscrupulous people who want to convert the naive to their POV. intrinsically beliveing in god, eating healthily, being safe, keeping your surroundings clean and tidy aren't damaging, taken to extremes, they all can be.

Sorry for this digression but it seems to be only way to contact another Aber on a different issue. I've also asked how one can make contact in S&C.

khandro You recently answered my question on German books and I thought you might like to see the outcome. See my post in Books.
Thanks !
modeller; It is strange that for some of us it is virtually impossible to trash books for thinking that they might have some meaning to someone else, somewhere, sometime; old clothes, cars, etc. we send to their demise without much thought.
When you hand a book to a Tibetan Buddhist Lama or monk, before they even open it, they touch it to their forehead and say (in trans.) "May I profit from any wisdom to be found within". Somehow the 'Kindle' doesn't have that resonance. I hope someone will benefit from your books.
Khandro, cat got your tongue?

// I hope someone will benefit from your books// Yes I hope so 40 books is a lot to be just sitting on a shelf for years.
