Cicero.
I hope you are not in need. :-)

Well it will see me out, which is good..............
We have about 10 Bhuddas around the house and they are excellent quality, we certainly don't consider any kind of sophistication to be attached to them, we just feel a sense of peacefulness and clalm around them.
Claim .... calm
According to a previous neighbour, it brings good luck to rub the belly of the rather large Buddha statue that graced their BBQ area.

Cicero.
Cicero cannot have been a musician then....or a Bhuddist :-)

jomifl; You don't say! then what about this; http://www.ciceros-stl.com/
:-)
Pixie has it right here. But all religions are invented. Just when you think that one religion is on the wane, another pops up to take its place, like Scientology. It would seem that some people need the emotional crutch that religion provides, to take the place of something missing in their lives.

I can easily see why ignorant, uneducated people take to religion in droves but find it a lot harder to understand why intelligent people do the same.
I feel bad now for draping my boxer shorts over Buddhas head to dry them out.

Ratter; Would you not find it odd if you entered someone's house and found they had 10 sculptures of Christ on the Cross on display, and discovered that, not only were they not Christian, but that they couldn't even spell 'Christ'?
Non-Buddhists who have statues of Buddha in the homes generally see them as quirky and amusing ornaments. Nothing more. I think they’re awful.
Is it time to do my joke about a range of cheap plastic ornamental Buddhas called 'I can't believe it's not Buddha' again?
Probably not.
Wither?
Question Author
^ No, 'whither'.
Did you not notice the /'s/ Khandro?
Oh crisht I misspelled buddha :-)
Khandro, I would find it a bit odd, but if people get comfort and peace from a piece of art then why not, I certainly would have a problem with it. I would have more concerns if they actually believed in it! Do you really think I give a hoot about what other people people may think of what ornaments I have in my house. I make a lot of typo's actually Khandro, its a Dyslexic thing or just an honest mistake, sh1t happens.

I do find it quite odd that you claim to be a Buddhist, you are about as much a Buddhist as I am the Pope.
Ratter, I don't think Khandro claims to be anything, but then he doesn't need to :o)
