I had an email from a cleric who said I didn't have a balanced view of the bible , which I thought was a bit thick coming from a cleric who believes every word of the bible as true . No discussion.

I answered :
It is the sceptics who apply logic and ask , how, when, why, what are the possibilities and probabilities and alternative explanations.

I've never met a cleric who believes every word of the Bible to be true, at least, not in this country!

Well this one does with a few minor exceptions , he doesn't wholly believe the nativity mainly because it's not in Mark's Gospel.

When it comes to Bible and someone says to me that they believe in every single word to be true then I always ask them not to bother about whole Bible but just prove to me that Mark Chapter 16 verse 17 and 18 is true.

A sceptic is one who doubts – a rationalist is one who knows that donkeys and snakes don’t talk – and one for Keyplus, that model clay birds can’t be brought to life. ;o)

Didn't God take clay from the Garden of Eden and mould it into human form, breath life into it, and there was Adam. If that, why not clay birds?

Very good keyplus they do not exist which in my mind proves the resurrection never occurred. The verses 9-20 do not appear either in ancient manuscripts. They were all added later.

I’m not with you there. How does that prove the resurrection never occurred? (Not that I think it did – just curious about your reasoning).

That is always the bottom line with theists. If they can't answer a question then it's God. There is never any attempt to search out the truth or admit
it's a myth.
