Are there any passages in the bible where entire communities of Caaninites or Samaritans, or other lesser tribes, were put to the sword by The Chosen People at Gods direction?

If there are they might come in useful for the apologists for Israel when they try to excuse what's going on at the moment.

I sit here wondering if we go through another Dark Ages, come out the other side and somebody picks up a copy of The Stand by Stephen King, will it be treated as a document of record?
Of course not, that would be bordering on lunacy.
The musings of a supernatural, invisible, omnipotent, omniscient yet absent entity (through it's appointed representatives on Earth of course) is a much better blueprint for life in the 21st century.

Well Sands, I actually think the 'BCE' thing has a point but it's not one I'm prepared to get het up over. Sometimes I get a rollicking for using it, but I thin k most people have just got over it. Just like wishing someone a Happy Christmas doesn't mean 'enjoy the forthcoming randomly selected midwinter sacrifice of one of our group to ensure the continued rise of the sun' any more. we've just moved on, meanings change.

the killing of the Canaanites mentioned by Hyposnosis is particularly significant because they, not the Israelites, were the ones originally living in the Holy Land.

Some say the Palestinians are descended from the Canaanites, but I don't know of any evidence for this. Israelis (naturally) reject the possibility - sometimes on the grounds that as the genocide was so successful, nobody can be descended from them.

Hamas certainly does believe Israel should be annihilated. They don't use the word "holocaust" but they want the land cleansed. Anyone remember this happening once before ?
