Jehova's Witnesses

Unfortunately for my divorced daughter she foolishly married a Jehova's Witness. He tries to control her everything she does but she fights against it which leads to a very unhappy marriage. |He has however made life so difficult for her children that three have left and he is now spreading poison against the last one.
Is this really what his religion is about or is he a control freak anyhow.
Can anyone suggest any passages in the bible which might persuade him to look after his wife ( and her family) in the loving way other parts of the bible suggest. He reads it religiously every day' even when he gets back from the pub which he has been to on his own.

I have 3 families of JW's here. Two are my direct neighbours and the 3rd family lives over the road. They have a meeting place nearby, so the place is infested with them. On recycling days, their bins are overflowing with wine bottles.
One next door had a very raucous party last night, which went on into the wee small hours and ended with a very drunk woman shouting abuse at someone.
The ones over the road are always arguing loudly, it's embarrassing - so much for being happy.
The ones the other side of us have lived there for 5 years now. One night after a long and very loud party, their bedroom window opened and the husband was so drunk, he couldn't make it to the bathroom next door and was vomiting out of the window onto the patio below. Lovely!
Once a child's ball landed in our garden and an elderly man I'd not seen before shouted 'thank you' for it's return. Also, we had to cut down a willow tree that had sprung up at the end of the garden because it was near their wall and the roots would have eventually grown underneath and cracked it. They were very angry that we were cutting it down, probably because it afforded them privacy. Oh, yes! Many is the time I stood at the end of my garden coveting their wood pile! Apart from those 2 occasions, these wonderful JW's have never spoken a word to us. If I dare to walk up my garden when their daughter is out, they bundle her into the house as if I'm going to contaminate her with my presence.
tooj, I don't know how your daughter got involved with this creep, but I suggest she gets away from him as soon as possible. Her situation is never going to get any better, in fact it sounds as if it's escalating and will end in violence. She deserves so much more. In fact she deserves a medal for having put up with this pestilence of a man for as long as she has already.

So in the first instance, they can't be JW's. If you are insistent they are, then I would suggest you go to the Kingdom Hall and report them. They will then have to face disciplinary action and if proved, would be disfellowshipped. What you are suggesting they are doing is contrary to Bible principles and is unacceptable.
Yes, JWs like to have a drink but you are saying they are continually being drunk, which is not acceptable, we like to party but not to the extent you say, so wherever you are you have the right to complain about their conduct.
In answer to your question Ido, that is true.

JWs are quite fond of disfellowship. Like children who grow up and decide to leave the religion/cult... People who do get out of unhappy or abusive marriages... Anyone who speaks against the "faith"...
What sort of religious group are so insecure that followers are not allowed to enter a place of worship of a different faith?

2sp_@ “Cult” have “great devotion to a people, idea, or thing.” Actually, the members of any religious group who strongly adhere to human leaders and their ideas are in danger of becoming slaves of men.
Jesus knew that, what you take in through your eyes can affect your heart.
So is simple, Don’t start what you can’t finish.
Jehovah’s Witnesses invite you to check for yourself. Then after careful consideration, draw your own conclusions. Jehovah’s Witnesses are servants of God, as they claim, or actually slaves of men?
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says: “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.
So the best way to avoid him is to disfellowship that person, set him aside, get him out of the congregation, so that the whole congregation may remain clean.

Wonderful - but what about the Jesus who said that any man who repents will inherit the kingdom of God?
I am sure that if there is a heaven, everyone will be there - Christians, Muslims, jews, Budhists, even atheists, because Gof will forgive and welcome them all.
I am equally sure that there will be one section with a very high wall around it, and God will ask everyone to nice and quiet when walking past it.
And if anyone asks God why we need to be quiet, God will smile and say "That's the Jehovah's Witness's section, and they think they are the only ones here!"
"Disfellowshipped"?

Again I ask, what kind of religion actively encourages parent to turn their backs on grown up children that leave their church?
I am usually a live and let live kind of person, but my own experiences and observations of JWs leave me with the opinion that the vast majority of them are deeply unpleasant.
