What Happened To R & S?

I discovered Answebank in 2006.
For the first few years, I posted regularly, had many arguments and discussions, and it was really busy all of the time.
I don't bother much these days as to be honest I got a bit fed up with the atheist anger and such. I can take that, but it it seemed so fruitless. Now I notice that the posts are few and far between, and the laughs I used to enjoy are missing.
Why is that?

I may or may not return soon to read responses. Fact is, Answerbank had its uses and may still have, but Jesus Christ and family are far more important, and health permitting, they consume most of my time these days.

It was enormous fun – but excessive moderation caused many of the academics who were here then to conclude that their efforts were fruitless too - and you lost your sense of humour. A great pity.

I agree with Naomi. It's over moderated imo. It often pointless posting on a thread because you know it'll probably disappear.

There’s little point in saying logic and rationale will win in the end if you don’t offer a logical and rational argument. Simply saying that someone else’s posts are rubbish doesn’t encourage discussion and is not a rational argument.

ummmm, do you remember the days when the inhabitants of R&S threw parties aboard the Ark - and even formed their own peculiar band made up of the most outlandish musical instruments? Such fun!! :o)

I have never noticed 'anger' as such from the atheists who post on this section.

Frustration, yes, derision, occasionally, but anger? Not really.

My experience as an atheist is that I simply hold a different view fro the Christians I know.

Only one section of the divide feels the need to convince the other - and it's not mine!

I remember it as groundhog day, the same thing being endlessly discussed, repeated ad infinitum. Perhaps even the god botherers got fed up with that eventually.

When I was trying to debate with Clannad yesterday, I made the point that if I had to side with David Attenborough, who says that the Grand Canyon is millions of years old, or some "born again" American preacher, who says it is only 6000 years old, Attenborough would win outright every time.

If that is not isn't being logical and rational, I don't know what is !

In my experience, no-one has ever been ridiculed for their beliefs, whatever colour they may be.

Ridicule may be a result of expression of, or argument for those views, but never the views themselves.

There is always the argument that you should have the courage of your convictions - Jesus and the Disciples did - why not you?
