In the light of new findings, DNA is even more beautiful and complex than we imagined, considering that it was in existence in the early life-forms on the planet, doesn't any theory of the origin of life by a blind series of chemical accidents seem preposterous ?
Surely only the most unimaginative and feeble-minded could believe in this.

Hmm. They are different achievements. To call one somehow low compared to the other is fairly patronising. Never mind the "that's a fact and you know it is" statement that is, in fact, impossible to know or ever verify. Who is to say how many ideas for melodies that have been created in the past but, subsequently, forgotten or never committed to paper, that were...

Hypo;// Remember when flying was thought impossible?//
You must have a long memory! even the cave-man knew that flying as such was a possibility, - he was surrounded by flying creatures. Later, people such as my hero Leonardo tried to emulate them (not by wagging his arms) which eventually led to the aeroplane.

Please explain how..
Hi Khandro, I am aware that LDV sketched some flying machine ideas but I think it is a bit of a leap to say that they led to the development of the aeroplane. Do we have any evidence that the Lilienthal brothers or the Wright brothers were influenced by LDV?

I think - and I'm sort of making some of this up- but people tried all sorts of stunts with wings and gliders, jumping off church spires and the like. It needed the power of the internal combustion engine to do the job, I think that's where the wrights etc. came in.
PS please come over to 'Flies Free to Fly' in 'Science' for your thoughts.
Prof Michael Behe peer reviewed paper concluded no additional information in the cell when functionality changed. Loss of information or adaptive information, but no new information.

The Lilienthal brothers achieved gliding fllight long before the Wright brothers achieved powered flight.
Still not convinced new information in the cell can come from a mutation.
