Was Hitler A Muslim?
34 Answers
After the Koran, Mein Kampf is the most read book in the middle East. He was idolised in the Muslim world for his treatment of Jews, he donated land and property to the Muslim Brotherhood in Munich, (which is still one of their headquarters) he regarded himself as a messiah and had himself filmed in a manner which attempted to substantiate that claim.
If true, could the Nazis have been a forerunner of the so-called Isis?

Hitler wasn’t Muslim – but fundamentalist Islam is fascist.
hc4361, // so much so that some members of his [Churchill’s] family begged not to convert.//
That isn’t true. His future sister in law somehow gained a notion that he might convert, and wrote one letter – and much has been made of it. This is what Churchill thought of Islam.
//How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.//
Possibly prophetic words.

He certainly, at least, wished he was;

Some think he actually was: it perhaps gives another dimension to the holocaust, something only now beginning to be considered?

//I thought he might have been half-Jewish //
nope. but adolf's father was illegitimate and his grandfather's identity was never established. was he a jew? hans frank said so at nuremberg but evidence was never forthcoming. and yet, it was reported in 2010 thay DNA from hitler's surviving distant relatives showed that there could be jewish DNA in the family.....

Khandro, The suggestion that Hitler was Muslim is simply preposterous. Don't believe everything you read - especially when its written with a specific agenda in mind.

Not a promising start to your most recent link, Khandro, when it massively misquotes Hitler by translating "das werk des Herrn" as "the work of Allah" specifically as opposed to "the work of God" or "the Lord's work".
In as much as both ideologies have a tendency to twist history and even religion to suit their own evil ends, there is a link. I'm not convinced it's anything more than superficial, though.

jno; You asked for a reference to who and on what grounds do they think this?
I gave you the answer, but in no way did I claim that I believed it to be factual, but what is indisputable is that Hitler had very strong links with the Muslim Brotherhood and admired the Islamic world and religion, and I believe this bolstered his hatred of Jews.
