"Last Whites Of The East End," shown recently on tv, depicted really nice decent white people being fed up of being the minority ethnic grouping in their own area, and taking, "white flight", to Essex.

Religionists or atheist, deo you think this is racist?
Would you feel awkward as a minority in your own countr?

Oh one ought not wimp out of subjects one isn't very familiar with. First off a naive viewpoint may not be hampered by an erroneous belief that those who have studied a subject all believe. They can provide fresh insight. Also participation in discussion is a good way to learn. Simply reading through someone else's disagreement conversation can be a little boring. A viewpoint is a viewpoint, how does one get critiqued unless one states it ?

Naomi - before you and I descend into yet another argument - and risk de-railing the thread - let us agree on some common ground.

You have views on a number of religions based, as you frequently remind the site, on your in-depth education about such issues.

I have views as well, based, as I am happy to admit, on a less in-depth education about such issues.

That doesn't mean that you and I should engage on daily contests about who knows how much about what - it is a waste of time, and entertains no-one but us.

I suggest we avoid direct interaction between us on matters of religion - the better for the threads to flow, and for us in saving time trying to score points off each other.

I would expect no less a lofty view from a fervent Christian - your default position has to be "I know something you don't ..." - once again a facet you share with goodlife and Naomi.

Pre-supposing that it is 'your' country in the first place, and not just somewhere you happen to have been born in by a fortunate accident of birth.

Circumstances have fortunately meant that a few generations have not been required to fight, but there are plenty of second third and fourth generation immigrants who have every right to call this country their own - if they are so concerned with the concept of 'ownership' - although that does seem to be the preserve of white middle-class Anglo-Saxons who feel bragging rights are theirs alone.
