You're welcome - but you may not get much of a response to your post. A lot of people around here are prone to ignoring the nasty things that Muslims do. Have you seen this?

what was the question ?
when trump is president he will crawl up Pres Putin's urse ['hey he kinda likes me' and Putin has a FANTASTIC human rights record] and the stop off to kiss and cuddle the King of Saudi ?
or is it that in Araby they do things differently there
and hey if you dont like it you can go elsewhere? - hey there's a thought that hasn't occurred to anyone -
but hey again !
that thought HAS occurred to two million syrians who are refugees and some have come here !
or .....
it is OK to interfere in another countries affairs ( like Syria oops ! ) ?

I'd be surprised if anyone, including those at the top who choose whom to be 'friends' with are under any illusions as to the character of Saudi Arabia. After all 15 of the 19 hijackers of the 911 attacks were Saudi as was the main man himself but what happened to that country....? Nothing - instead Iraq got attacked, and see what that lead to.
The alliance (not friendship) is because of economic and military strategy and unfortunately those factors mean turning a blind eye to this type of incident.
It's a poor state of affairs but Saudi hold some of the cards in this game and we just have to live with it. Personally I cannot feel highly enough about the bravery of the guy who got the lashes as he must have known what would happen but he pressed on regardless, hopefully others can and will continue and it will cause a change in that country from within which is where it needs to come from, not from outside.

No - we don't agree.
I find your cavalier inference that people on here do not wish to face up to the actions of terrorists, and that by further inference they therefore defend them, is what is sickening.
Except I am perfectly sure that you knew that, and you are simply needling me, because that is what you like to do.

"The hardline Islamic state’s religious police in charge of monitoring social networks found more than 600 tweets denying the existence of God, ridiculing Koranic verses, accusing all prophets of lies and saying their teaching fuelled hostilities"
I'd say he got off lightly seeing where he is in the world which could have been an execution in neighboring vicinities.
Strangely enough no one has said "When in a country that isn't yours you should abide by the rules and laws of the land" as many do when it's regarding immigrants in this country.
When in Rome and all that jazz.

mamyalynne, //Don't make the mistake of thinking a lack of response is an admission of being an apologist.//
I don’t think that. Apologists never admit it – but they’re to be found in abundance on threads where they think they can offer some sort of defence. On vetuste_ennemi’s thread however, the link I posted, there is none to offer – hence their absence.
