Today here in Catholic Swabia it is a holiday (Epiphany) and this afternoon 3 children with a parent came to us in biblical dresses with golden cardboard crowns collecting for an orphanage in Africa, they sang a song and chalked on the door, '20*C+M+B+18', which refers to the date and either the 3 magi; Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar , or can mean, 'christus mansionem benedicat', – May Christ bless this house.
Lovely voices and joyful shiny faces - a treat!
.
Can't think of a question though.
Tři králové (Three Kings) is also celebrated in schools across the Czech Republic, with children there wearing crowns bearing the letters K, M and B. (Kašpar, Melichar and Baltaza)
