You would be hard-pushed to find anyone as closed-minded and self-righteous as this man, and he is very like some of the religious types he mocks and despises.
Anti-religionist Dawkins, the best-known English dissenter since Darwin, is the pompous and merciless demander of his brand of "provable facts" This miserable, scornful and often angry man tours the world – generally in considerable comfort – lecturing the elites of the West that they are stupid to believe in any god. He proselytises against the proselytisers, with a confidence and certainty in his own intelligence that makes even the Donald loom modest. In his insistence that he is right Dawkins pushes his fingers and fulminates, outwardly still the civilised Englishman but dialectically as steadfast and immovable as any mullah. Hawk-eyed but hackneyed Dawkins is the suave Ayatollah of atheism, like an immovable rabbi but without the humanity and compassion.

Hazi-Hammenuhoth, your post comes across as far more miserable and scornful than Dawkins' books ever do ... but I'm not sure you'd realise that because, although I might be wrong, I get the distinct impression that like most people of religion, you're eager to criticise even though you've never read them.
lots of deleted op's, i wonder what they said besides expletives, religious zealots perhaps, you all going to hell etc ? my god is the right god or this website is possessed by a demon..my personal opinion...
both men are correct, how they put that across is debatable, minus hitchens who passed away, Hazi-Hammenuhoth you need to read their books in order to give a more rounded op...unless you think you will go to hell if you do.

Khandro, like Hazi-Hammenuhoth, you attack the messenger simply because you’re incapable of attacking the message. I would venture to suggest that Dawkins and Hitchens have a far greater understanding of Christianity than most Christians, who having been given what you call a ready-made attitude, believe without question …. which is why Dawkins and Hitchens say what they say. Intellectual midgets they are not, and neither are others who possess the intellectual wherewithal to think and to question with a modicum of rationality the hocus pocus that is organised religion.
naomi; I didn't say they are intellectual midgets, far from it, they have made fortunes out of attacking a straw-man god in order to satisfy other's prejudices.
I'll give you the analogy of someone who is no good at maths, can't see any point in it and finds it all a waste of time, and then one day comes across a book written by either a nut or someone looking to make a fast buck, called 'Maths is a load bullocks' and of course he grabs it with glee, it's just what he was looking for, now he doesn't have to study maths and thinks he knows why.
