Mediums, Psychics And Ghosts

Hi, How many of you believe in mediums and psychics? Do you believe ghosts exist? How does the Ouija Board work? How can a board with a few numbers and letters call a spirit? Is there life after death? Do we meet our family who have gone before us? thanks

I believe a lot of "mediums" and "psychics" are just charlatans but I do believe firmly - with first hand experience - that there is a life beyond this earthly realm and that loved ones sometimes do visit.

If seeing a deceased loved one is simply our brains projecting that image, why on earth have humans evolved to do this? It doesn't make sense.

If the bold and underline facilities were available on here there wouldn't be a problem with capitals. An opportunity to rectify this was missed when the site was revamped. As to the convoluted way of typing italics, forget it.

Normally it's good netiquette if caps are used on one or two words that need to be accentuated. I always thought that adding emphasis in capital letters only indicates "shouting" and rudeness if the entire post is in caps. Maybe this is just a thing with this particular site?

Anyway I find it strange that some accept the spiritual dimension of so called unexplained events but dismiss the ultimate Spirit which is Jesus Christ.
There is no more a spirit guide than the Bible.

I don't think ancient musings, when less was known than is now, comes too high on a list of preferred guides. We've tended to move on from ancient legends, even if there may be value in contemplating all sorts of previous belief.

Since the gold standard in science is experimental evidence, and since such evidence is pretty much universally lacking in these cases, I am not sure that a thread on mediums etc can truly be said to belong in a scientific discussion. If someone can propose and conduct an experiment which then produces evidence to the contrary, then fair enough, of course, but as yet all such tests have failed, so...

Absolutely true; but it leads to wondering what happens to science when proving anything more becomes impossible and theoretical science is the last remaining choice. Does science stop at that limit, or do many things suddenly become theoretical science ?
