If the story of Jesus had been authored by man, then He would have been a mighty warrior, a dashing hero, skilled in sword and battle.
Instead He was beaten, weakened, screaming in pain as He hung on the cross, and those looking on did not know they were witnessing the greatest battle and victory in the history of the world. How amazing is our God.
The weak, despised, shamed, anti hero, completely alone, fighting alone, accomplished this greatest of all triumphs - for us.
No human hand could ever have conceived of such an idea.
Praise the Lord for His wisdom end love.

Stories about mighty warriors had been tried before. The story of someone who believed in their view of a God and who died for it is a more powerful influence.

I'd have thought it fairly certain such a tale would be told at some stage. The concept of a martyr influencing the masses is common enough . Still happening today by the more violent religious groups.
What about The Hobbit? No muscle bound, sword skilled, battle hardened hero there.
\ No human hand could ever have conceived of such an idea./
True, but a human brain could have done.
There is no such word as 'authored'.
'Story' is a key word but 'fable' or 'myth' would have been better.
You repeat 'alone' twice in your second paragraph.
There is a 'typo' in your penultimate sentence you meant to type 'and' not 'end'?
English language not a strong suit with you is it?
Punctuation missing between ‘penultimate’ and ‘you’.
How amazing is our God.

Don’t you mean YOUR God? Doesn’t really seem fair for you to include us all as believers of such wild tales of pure fantasy and fiction.
‘Amazing’ is not a word I’d use to describe God. The mentality of anyone who can come up with the bizarre notion of having himself killed in order to save humanity from his own innate spitefulness has to be questioned. However, the story of Jesus has the potential to be quite fascinating, Theland. Have you ever examined it?
People believed in gods long , long, long before people believed in a Christian god.

Did they just have a lucky guess that god/s existed?
do you think that could be proof of more than one god ?
Maybe the Christian god is the false god?

Just wondering like

Or just another viewpoint on the same God ?
“Or just another viewpoint on the same God ?”

The Christian god says no tae worship false gods etc so that god must of thought the others were false?
in answer to your question.... no.
If it's the same 'true' God then it isn't a false God.
'Authored' is the past tense / past participle of 'author'-but I do disagree with Theland's idea that no-one would have thought of a story where the hero is an underdog- there are thousands.
The story of Jesus as taught by the churches depends wholly upon human empathy and sympathy, but moreover upon the evil concept of the shame of perceived guilt. Without doubt cruel – and yes, Theland, that did emanate from the minds of men. Religion messes with the mind.
To me if Jesus existed he was a faith healer, nothing religious in that nor hero authored by man. Like all people who are not understood, the population turn on them (witches for example) and hurt, torture and/or kill them. Been going on since day one and will never stop. He would have been an ordinary guy just given legend status.
Myths being handed down from generation to generation much as Greek, Roman and Nordic myths. Only this particular one took root and continues to manipulate a vast majority of the population of Earth.

I love Greek mythology.
perhaps it was "authored" by a woman then?
Instead of sending "his son" to be a cruel sacrifice to himself, why couldn't this god just have created some hugely convincing sign, and simply forgiven everyone ?
I'm sure someone could suggest some sort of convincing sign - such as like vast clouds forming the Hebrew letters for "I forgive you all" and lasting for weeks in the sky - long enough for everyone on earth to read them.
Some might say that vast Hebrew letters spelling out the words I forgive you all' would have looked to most like nothing more than odd shaped clouds.
Especially since he hadn't yet allowed the flock to invent Google Translate.
I hope Theland comes back on this.
