Unless I'm mistaken every religion treats you like a second class citizen... so what can the possible draw to religion be?

Paganism doesn't, you're bang on equal in all Pagan paths, other than that though you're dead right x
It is the promise of 'Jam tomorrow.....(forever with the Lord in heaven/paradise/the afterlife)' which seems to be the main lure. 'Putting up with things' here on earth is but a short-time in comparison, apparently, and well worth the trade-off.

Barking....
Eff knows!
Jack worded it better than me :-)
Although saying that my Mother is a born again loony but her churches (she's a church hore) seem to treat both genders equally.
What precisely do you mean by, "treated like a second class citizen?"
How so?
Any example Talbot?

Any examples?
How long have you got?
Religious nuts treat women like crap all over the globe.
Theland, //What precisely do you mean by, "treated like a second class citizen?" //

I'm surprised you asked that question. Wasn't it you who said you oppose women Bishops?
^^ BOOM^^ Mic Drop from Naomi :) Best answer x
That is not treating women like second class citizens.
Question Author
Yeah, that's just letting women know their place innit.
How is that not treating women unequally Theland? You are saying that women are not good enough to be Bishops why not?
Theland, //That is not treating women like second class citizens. //

Why not? In your estimation they're clearly not equal, are they.
It depends on how you view it.
Through secular eyes, or from Gods perspective.
So if you don't believe in God, yes, women can take any role.
Yes, you are mistaken; the Church of England doesn't, neither do many others, Buddhism, Evangelicals - though they may have done once, but the times are changing, with one glaring example where it isn't!.
It's not Theland's view that women 'should know their places'.....it is his Gods. And he's not going to challenge it an any way, shape or form....
Theland, If God's injustice sits well with you, why did you ask what precisely was meant? You know - and you agree with it.
Jack - No. We should all know our place.
We have different places, not inferior ones.
