Sorry but somehow this went into the wrong category.
Yes. Religion is organised and each defined, at least to an extent, as to what is orthodoxy and what heresy. Spirituality is a belief in the spiritual. Need not hold particular explanations.

Yes as OG says religion is organised, spirituality is unique to each person. I for example come from a mixed Jewish, Pagan, Catholic family, and I've cheerfully grabbed elements from all of those into my own belief system. None of the purists will like it but it's a nice thing for me and my family because it accepts and includes everyone and everything.
yes there is a massive difference between religion and spirituality.

Religion is a form of spirituality.
I have moved this thread into the category "Religion & Spirituality".

OG @The one thing they have in common is that they can be false methods of having a relationship with God. Both can be, and often are, false paths to God.
Question Author
Spath@ Religion tends to substitute the heartless observance of rituals for a genuine relationship with God. Spirituality tends to substitute connection with the spirit world for a genuine relationship with God.
Assuming the existence of a God or Gods, I don't see there will be true or false paths to it/them. All roads lead to Rome. Only a believer in one particular road will claim that it's the only one.
spirituality doesn't have anything to do with "god" but god has something to do with spirituality.

OG@Jesus told us that there are only two roads. One is the narrow road which leads to salvation, and the other is broad and spacious but leads to destruction. Matthew 7 v 13 & 14.
Why do people trust this man? I've never met him. Sounds like a good salesman.
For example..

"One is the narrow road which leads to salvation, and the other is broad and spacious but leads to destruction. Matthew 7 v 13 & 14."

Who is to say jesus isn't lying to us?
there are thousands of roads and paths. Jesus lied.

Spath//there are thousands of roads and paths. Jesus lied.//

There is only one road to God. The broad and spacious road takes in lots of different roads but they don't lead to God. Jesus did not lie, he was a perfect man so could not lie.

Where I live, there are mountains and there are many, many roads all leading to various places, but not directly to the other side. However, there is only one road that takes you right through the mountains to the other side.

Its the same with religions, they all say they will lead you to God, but they go off in all different directions. You have to search for the one that will take you direct.
"he was a perfect man so could not lie. "

How do we know?
we only think jesus is perfect because he was created by god, the son of god.. but gods going to be bias isn't he? Maybe his son is a little brat and he keeps that to himself. We blindly trust this god, but he's never done anything for me, he's never proved himself worthy for my respect. He may have created me, but am i perfect? No.. so why is Jesus? What's the point?

If god truly made a perfect man, then he'd do it again, or make a perfect woman also surely?

I may be being too metaphysical but isn't that what the bible is, a literal book on what happened in real life on this world?
idiosyncrasy, may I ask you the same question you asked Theland earlier? Which denomination are you?
Question Author
I don't belong to any denomination or attend any Church. However I do study the Bible.
Thanks.
