Street Preachers And A B Evangelists

Just why?

See so many street preachers bangin on about needing jesus etc (same with AB evangelists).
Do these people honestly think that they are going to change anyone's life view by quoting a book (actually shouting it) that no one believes in anyway?
Makes it especially hard when these people are challenged to defend their book and wont...because anyone who doesn't subscribe to that belief is hellbound anyway)
Any chance of a decent conversation is stilled. Because unbelievers are doomed anyway.


What a carp way to live your one and only life. That's all I can say.
Personally, I like to appreciate everyone that has been in my life. Not condemn them to eternal torture for not believing the same things as me.

They don't think it's a 'carp way to live your one and only life' though do they? They think they are carrying out God's will by spreading the Word. Therefore, they have done their bit and I'm sure that they rest happily in their beds.

A few weeks ago tho, there was a 'team' preaching about the evils of homosexuality in my home town. Just wondered about how they got away with that?

Street preachers tend to get a bit *** off with me when I stand next to them, shouting "There is no God!"

It's not a crap way to you live your life if it makes you happy. My mum used to sing in town (as a choir) it made her happy.

I'm an Atheist, she doesn't preach to me (anymore) and she doesn't think I'm going to hell for not asking the Lord into my life. But...she's one of the happiest people I know.

The one's I feel sorry for are the Jehovah's Witnesses who sit/stand in a group of three and hope that someone approaches them. That must be quite tedious as I have never seen anyone in conversation with them.

The JWs gathering on street corners is a vastly improved and more considerate way of carrying out their mission than knocking on doors just as you are about to sit down to Sunday lunch.

I take it these are meek and mild Christian preachers whe get the Buenchico hairdryer treatment rather than the reactive, fighty, stony, unforgiving Muslim variety otherwise I'm sure it would have made the evening news.

It's not a problem we have much of in the UK. Still, they wouldn't bother me none. Live and let live.
