How would you deal with poverty?
Universal Cradit? Evictions? Food banks ? In work poverty? The Underclass?

The "handouts" given out by government are supposed to be what the law says you can live on, I think the problem with modern poverty is a lot of people do not know how to cook from scratch or with limited ingredients, Not know how to mend clothing, budget meals or re-use. There is also a huge problem with addiction and mental health problems.

Purist, Your spot on! as I said in my early post no idea how to manage money, no idea how to budget, no idea how to cook. Paying silly money for a fast food fix, and £2/£2.80 for one cup of coffee. Good example, I pay £2.50 for a bag of ground coffee that lasts me over a week most times, as for a £5 burger that their selling at my local Christmas market at the moment, I can make meals for 3/4 days with that. Madness!

Oh Naomi you are so wrong. As kids we lived in poverty, but we never realised it because everybody in the street was in the same boat. I give much of my money away, to help my kids none of whom except one has ever used a food bank.
