'Something is stirring in the souls of millions presently under lockdown. The number of people searching for the word ‘prayer’ on Google ‘skyrocketed’ last month, doubling with every 80,000 new registered cases of coronavirus, according to a University of Copenhagen study. A Pew poll found that 55 per cent of Americans have prayed for an end to the pandemic. And no, it’s not only the Bible Belt: researchers reported that 15 per cent of those who ‘seldom or never pray’ and 24 per cent of those who do not belong to any religion have prayed about the virus.'

Have you prayed - even in the simplest of terms - for someone's health?

Tens of millions prayed for Ken Bigley which did not end well.

Prayers are about much use as a chocolate fireguard.
No.
‘ The number of people searching for the word ‘prayer’ on Google ‘skyrocketed’ last month’

That was just Trump looking for an answer.
No...pointless exercise IMO.
Possibly a spiritual blip. In times of trouble there is an overall incentive to grasp any straw. Who knows, might work.

Perhaps they have but if you check Pew statistics on prayer you’ll find a similar number of people pray regularly anyway so I don’t think this indicates a sudden upsurge in prayer. It’s just an indication of what people are currently praying for. Had the world been hit by some other disaster no doubt prayers in similar numbers would have been offered for that.
yes I do pray for people but then I always have.
No, i'll continue to put my trust in science.
I don't think prayer has ever helped the cause being prayed for, but I do think it can help the person praying deal with the situation if they believe that sort of thing. (I don't.)
I have always prayed and will continue to do so
Most think prayer is like Satan telling Jesus to turn the stones into bread.
An instant miracle.

Do you think that science & prayer are in completion with each other?

Why are so many scientists religious?
Thinking that prayer is going to end, or even put a dint in, coronavirus is delusional. I doubt even Brietbart would dare write an article stating that. Morrisey May have sung about the power of prayer tho (I’m unfamiliar with most of his works, thank gawd).
Khandro. Science requires independent thinking and open-mindedness in order to ascertain how the world works. Religion requires obedience and acceptance of authority and promises that it already knows the answers to life's questions. Of course, there are unimaginative and closed minded scientists and thoughtful religious followers, but in both cases the system they are in discourages such attitudes.
No, I don’t pray. I do say “Please don’t let my dad catch it” quite often, though. Which is just as useless as praying.

The above quote from Atheist is not correct.
Most in the scientific establishment have a worldview that includes a metaphysical prohibition, so not completely open minded.
Christians if they are thoughtful do not rely on blind faith, but science is an important part of their worldview.
Theland. What is metaphysics?
No. And i wouldn't like it if people prayed for me - not that i would know. If something is meant to happen it will. I might wish but not pray. I don't have a religion.
A spiritual dimension.
I have always prayed.
